In 2024, we worked side-by-side with Black Talon to help imagine a transparent window into each of their customers’ individual attack surface and total risk, including vulnerabilities, threats, and asset and human risks.
As we do, we took what Black Talon already had, and remixed it into something entirely different. No new data, no new sources. Entirely new experience and value proposition. With a whole new way to look at security whether your a business owner, MSP or DSO. We invented a multi-factor, extensible additive exposure score which shows your risk in absolutes, and normalized risk rating — much like a credit rating — which blended the ability to see the effects of new risks and the work done to mitigate them — as well as fairly comparing one business to another, regardless of the number of humans, computers, or services they subscribe to. This on top of giving two unique perspectives on the data they provide customers — top down by risk type: vulnerabilities, threats, ports etc, and bottom up by people or computer — giving a comprehensive view of risk — regardless of how you want to look at it, or mitigate it. The thing is magic.
Before we got involved, EAGLEi was a loose patchwork of data feeds and spreadsheets — raw numbers with no meaning. MSPs couldn’t make sense of client risk, and customers couldn’t see what mattered. The problem wasn’t the lack of information; it was the absence of interpretation. We realized the key wasn’t to add more dashboards but to craft a story of risk that anyone could understand.
How do you show a business owner the gravity of a vulnerability without burying them in jargon? How do you give an MSP a single, consistent language for threat and progress? Our challenge was to humanize cybersecurity — to build a tool that could speak fluently to both the tech-minded and the terrified.
We ran stakeholder and user sessions to understand how clients perceived risk. We mapped pain points, defined user roles, and found that comprehension — not data access — was the real barrier to decision-making.

We built and tested a model that compared risk across environments of any size, enabling MSPs to spot and prioritize high-risk clients faster.

We designed and built a clean, approachable UI with custom visualizations that made cybersecurity intelligence feel accessible. EAGLEi became a full product experience, not just another reporting tool.

Dev Handover
The visual fidelity aspects of charts and graphs in this project were critical to create the informative but inviting nature we had designed, so we jumped in and created the entire front end, including custom chart visualizations across the site while our dev partner focussed on the back end.
EAGLEi consolidates thousands of detections into a clear, balanced view of risk. MSPs and clients can instantly see which environments need attention and why. It translates overwhelming data into insight and action.
The new platform changed how partners and clients engaged with risk. MSPs could communicate priorities clearly, and users finally understood where to focus. EAGLEi helped Black Talon evolve from service provider to product leader, giving cybersecurity a friendlier, more human face.
